just wondering has anyone got one? if so, what do you think? I had one on order but not enough stock so didn't get one, so gona wait a while before I get one (when the next pro evolution soccer comes out on it). I was probably gona sell it straight anyway. People are paying crazy prices for it.
I'm waiting til prices drop. My mate at college, works for game, and they have some kind of staff reward scheme, or something. He had saved up 250 quid in vouchers, so he got an xbox 360 for about 30 quid, on the day it came out. Didn't work. Turned it on, loaded up and then crashed. failed to boot up again, so he was 'devastated', as he put it. Apparently they over heat and are really buggy?
I don't want to get one but my dad's friend had one pre-ordered and they told him they'd ran out, so he had a go at them saying why did they let so many people pre-order knowing there wasn't going to be enough, in the end they gave him one they had kept in the store room
I saw on the news that Microsoft were releasing 300,000 in the UK i think. And some shops were saying once they sold out they wouldn't be getting any more until Febraury. Maybe when the PlayStation 3 might be released. Im not going to spend money on an xbox 360. Gonna wait and save for the PS3. -Chris
I saw one in GAME, and I don't know why but the it didn't seem to fill the hype about it. Graphics were good but didn't get to see it long.
We sold out of all our units in a few days, they were selling for about £410 each at the lowest price. Yeah, they do overheat and crash very frequently, I'm glad I didn't get one. Even the in-store demonstration model keeps on crashing every day. Personally I don't see how they can justify releasing an expensive console with expensive games and only to turn out that they don't work. Surely they would test the untis BEFORE sending them out? As for the PS3, you've got a looooooong wait for that, Japan is getting it in the Spring so it's expected here about Summer or later. February is when we will get more, Microsoft isn't letting us have anymore units.
People were buying them just to sell on ebay knowing that they'll shoot up in price because people want them... Most are selling for between £300 and £500 This person is a bit optimistic though: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XBOX-360-Prem...39508094QQcategoryZ112848QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem :chk:
Lol, yeah don't think he'll be getting too many bids... One of my friends camped out at a local walmart that had 10 overnight and then 6 hours the next day and got one. He loves it and hasn't had any problems. What I've read is is you simly elevate the external powersupply off the ground it shouldn't crash as some air circulates underneath. Not a big deal if you ask me.
Premium pack with 2 games and a Play and Charge kit for £1,200??? You can get that with Condemned or King Kong thrown in for just £450 (£430 actually, people put down a £20 deposit). Some people are just born panic-buyers, I wasn't at all impressed with the 360, the price of the games is outrageous and the system itself isn't all that impressive. The only things that are any good about the 360 is Condemned and Perfect Dark Zero, not gonna get a console for 2 games though, especially not at that price. Roll on the PS3, I'm getting my name down for that asap!
Didnt personally get one. Cousin got one and is bitterly dissapointed with it, Ive played on it myself and thought the graphics were only slightly better.
I want to see the improvement HDTV has over current TVs, PS3's HD support should be good if you have a HDTV with a supported game.
Well I'm not putting my name on any PS3 preorders yet (though I am intrigued), we haven't seen any gameplay on those yet, all we know is the specs look good obviously and it will have a boomerang controller and a fairly chunky pricetag, and even that could change before release. Keep in mind that these are the first batch of games, they're not multi-threaded, they obviously won't utilze the consoles full pontential, the developers haven't had enough time to get a real handle on the ins and outs of everything at this point, and it will look a lot better on 1080i/720p than some generic CRT/LCD, or HDTV without the right cables. Think about how much better God of War or Shadow of the Collassus look than Devil May Cry 1 for instance, it's going to take time. There's a lot more than a handful of games planned for the thing.
I got mine on release day here. My preorder they overbooked and told me I was one of the lucky random people taken off the list so I ended up getting one of the last ones at Walmart 5 minutes after they opened. I ended up canceling my game preorders when the company took me off the preorder list so ended up with only PGR3 and NFS:Most Wanted but so far I'm really happy with it. The overheating problem I haven't had any problems with and I was expecting them after I first heard about it as I have the 360 next to the original Xbox a PS2 and 3 Linksys wireless game adapters all on one shelf of a fairly cramped together closed in component case.
