I have a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 with two WDC 250GB disks in RAID0. This has been working great for about 4 months, but over the weekend the raid array went offline. I don't know how this happened, but when I came to switch the machine on the RAID BIOS was complaining. Looking at the configuration in the BIOS, one disk is "RAID Inside" and the other is "Non-RAID". Naturally the RAID array is now showing a status of failed with 1 member disk.

I'm not quite sure what to do about this. Both disks look in good condition and if I attach them to the regular SATA ports the Gigabyte BIOS can clearly see them. I can also hear each spin up.

Is there any way I can recover the data on this raid array, by adding the dropped disk back in? It seems like the only menu option I have is to drop and recreate the array. While the data is backed up, it's just a pain to have to go through the entire windows installation to recover.

    Many thanks
    Simon

you probably know a lot more about RAID than me, are they configured to mirror or stripe, it appears 1 HDD has become coruppted somehow, are each HDD bootable ?[ot]if this sound stupid then just ignore it[/ot]
