The big four record labels are in more hot water with the US Department of Justice. Ars Technica reports the start of an investigation: This new investigation is in its earliest stages, and is not yet a criminal investigation. However, the labels should be concerned about the inquiry if they are not already. Given their strong-arm tactics with artists, retailers, and customers, they have left themselves with very few friends. Rootkits, lawsuits, bullying witnesses into committing perjury... it's not an enviable track record. It would not be surprising to see the European Commission of the European Union launch its own probe. They have friends still? Anyway, you can get the full blurb over here.
