Hi guys, I just got an asus gtx260 and after installing the drivers (and I've tried beta and the official release) whenever I start my machine they don't kick in. That is to say that windows does its automatic new hardware found and installing vga drivers thing. I have no nvidia control panel in the right click menu but the drivers are listed in installed programs. The only thing I can do is uninstall, reinstall and they work fine, if I reboot they are still working but if I leave my machine off for any longer than a few minutes they're gone. I thought this was probably a power problem as I only had a 450W psu and I know the card needs more than that (just thought I'd wing it) but I am now using a Corsair HX1000W and it's still happening so it's obviously nothing to do with power.
    the rest of my specs:
    Asus P5B mobo
    e6600 @ 3ghz
    4gb OCZ 800 ram
    WD Raptor HD
    windows vista home prem 32

    Thanks for any suggestions.

edit: ok, the one thing I hadn't considered was the overclocking - this computer was oc'd by my friend who I bought (most of it) from, and I've since added the card and new ram. Resetting the bios to default has fixed the problem.

edit: I spoke too soon and now the situtation is worse - nvidia drivers not working so I removed them and now windows wont let me install them at all, I get a message telling me that I don't have the hardware to install the drivers. GPU-Z shows me that no video card is installed. Fan on the card is working so it is getting power, it looks to be fitted securely. I'm stumped.

edit: I'm now 99% sure it's the card that is faulty, the card is just not recognised at all by windows or gpu-z. My monitor is showing in windows as generic, when it should be viewsonic (etc). I removed it and put back in the previous card which was instantly recognised, shows up in gpu-z before installing the drivers, and then allows me to install the drivers. And also (just as a side note) neither of the dvds (pdf manuals on one and driver install on the other) will run in any machine. Useless! I guess I will have to take the card back.
