Dual Channel

    Hi, I'm trying to configure 4 sticks of ram to run in dual channel and for some reason its not working.

    There are a few steps required:
    • BIOS - not all BIOS' are pre configured to use Dual Chanel. Visit your BIOS and make sure the option is set to enable.
    • Check that the RAM you are using is meant to be used in dual chanel mode.
    • Check that all your stiks are matched, i.e all of exactly the same charactaristics. For example - all 512MB, PC3200, CL3, etc...

    I don't specifically have a feature in the BIOS that is dual channel what happends is the motherboard automatically identifies if the configuration on board is of single or dual channel, also the two pairs of dimm connectors onboard are of the same color one next to the other and the second, as apposed to two pairs with each dimm of a pair of a different color. When I use 2 sticks each one in a separate pair of dimms I get a much higher rating in windows experience index as apposed to using all four or just two both placed in the same colored pair next to one another.
