there's also a few other small problems, but i can't remember them
this may be related to my multiboot setup (3 OS's using the same /home)

BTW: i was trying to install FF2

Looks like a corrupt file. Can you remove the whole folder of Firefox, and reinstall it?

That's probably not a good idea you know. Configuration data is stored in your /home directory which may conflict between the 3 distributions

Try removing the firefox directory and installing firefox or swiftfox for a .deb file. For instance, you can get a swiftfox deb over here: Swiftfox 2.0.0.2pre

...or add getswiftfox.com to your repos and install it through your package manager:
    Code:
    echo "deb http://getswiftfox.com/builds/debian unstable non-free" >> /etc/apt/sources.list
I use the real Debian though, not *ubuntu, so the path to your apt sources list might be a little different than mine.

BTW: i'm running an Intel Celeron Willamette 1.7Ghz not an AMD

tried that[ot]problem only occurs on 1 out of the 3 OS's sharing the /home directory[/ot]
