hiya gods, which CD / DVD writing software do you recommend ?
because i´m having less luck than a dead parrot with k3b, and i can´t get nautilus to play nicely, or am i doing it wrong, bassically i loaded the boot file (.ISO image) and that resulted in the future disc contents to be: 3.9Gb, any ideas folks ?

BTW: I´m using Mandriva 2k6 and trying to write Debian installation .ISO

but i´ve so far been unsuccessful

Please try burning it in K3b, and if it fails post the verbosity here.

I have never had any problems with K3b before, straight out of the box.
However, I had a problem with DVD/CD images which did not check properly or media which was bad. Have you checked both?
Normally with K3b you get an error message before you can burn.
    I love K3b!

    Then you probably not.....

This is going to sound stupid but... reinstall k3b. Seems like something is screwed in the libk3b.so

you could also try to load the iso file from right click in your favorite file manager.

Yes, and if you're running growisofs from the SoS repository, it's incompatible with KDE 3.4.3. :(

Try running the following command as root:
    Code:
    urpmi.removemedia
...without any arguments. Please post the results.

I don't have an answer to this, but for a quick fix you should try installing gnomebaker. Gnomebaker is a CD/DVD burner for the GNOME interface. You should be able to find it in the Mandriva repositories

I didn't want you to remove it, just run that command since it will list all of your repositories. :)
