question guys: How come I get an email from Anti-Trend, when he's answering Sniper?
The conversations don't seem to follow in a sensible order. Is that just the way it is, with this type of communicating?

RA - you have subscribed to this thread, and so every time someone replies, you get an email saying that they have. You can unsubsribe via your User Control Panel.

    Cursed Windows...

Mac Icon's and (from what I've seen) Linux's icons are absolutely awesome. I mean they are sharper, clearer and shinier. Window's are just fuzzy and boring :swt: ...guh.

Hello Waffle. Thanks for the info on the emails. I guess what your saying, is that everbody gets to read evebody elses email. Right?
As far as the "unsubscribe" bit. Are you one of those big, bad, mean 'ol administrators that's saying, if you don't like the way things are run around here, Get Lost!..?

No, that's not it at all. What he's saying is that if you reply to a topic on this website, you are automatically emailed to give you updates on the thread in question. In other words, if someone posts a reply, the site lets you know automatically by email! If you don't want to recieve those notifications via email, you can unsubscribe to the thread you've posted on, and you won't get any more emails about that thread.

P.S. - Addis isn't an administrator on this site. Moderators can be identified by their screennames appearing in green, and administrators appear in red.

I thought I was answering Waffle, not Addis.
OK, I just clicked on Anti-Trend's reply, and I'm giving him a quick reply. Is he the only one that's going to get my reply, or is my reply going out to everyone, like on a bulleton board that anyone can reply to, if they want? Does that make any sense?

Yeah, it was waffle not addis (sorry waffle).

On a public forum like this one, when you post a message everyone can see it. It's not like email or an instant messanger where only two people can have a private conversation; everyone is included. However, you can send private messages to individuals by clicking on their user-names and choosing "Send private message to..." from the drop-down menu.

First, my apologies to Waffle, and anyone else that I might have offended, for being a little fiesty. I'm frustrated, trying to learn how to get things right.
Anti-Trend, I'm a believer in ESP. Your explanation made it clearer, and the fact that you can send a private message to someone, was my next question to you. So now I'll give that a try.

I'm sure you haven't offended anyone here. :chk: But do you better understand the principles of a forum now? It's a bit like a bulletin board in a university hallway. Anybody can post something, and everybody can read it. A private message is more like slipping somebody a note in class... :p

Thanks Anti-Trend! That sums it up nicely. Sniper just sent me a split email, and I couldn't open either one. Maybe I didn't hold my mouth right or something! :) Talk to you later.
