Hi, a friend has asked me to look at her pc as she cannot install office 97. I have tried and I get so far and get an error message saying a file on the disk already exists, asks me to either verify that it can be read or cancel installation. When I retry the same happens again. It is something along the lines of D:\pfile\msoffice\office exists, click to verify it can be read and try again. I have checked to see if has part installed but there is nothing in the installed program list and there are no office files in program files. Any ideas where these files could be hiding or what I should try?
I'm really sorry but I don't have the exact error messgae, I'm sure thats a lot of help to you! D:\ is the disk drive, I am assuming that one of the files being copied to the hard drive from the setup disk already exists from a previous install maybe?
If it's asking to overwrite or re-copy the file, click yes. Now, if it's corrupted, you might make sure the Office 97 CD isn't scratched.
