Application log: 192 entries what is this..." the timeout waiting for the performance collection function " PrefProc" in the " C:\WINNT\system32\prefproc.dll" Library to finish has expired. there may have been a problem with this extensible counter or the service it is collecting data from or the system may have been very busy when this call was attempted" under the heading: Source...Perflib many enties have the same or similiar statements and may explain the " timed out " problem I was having Timed outs were also under the Source heading: MS DTC ( whatever that is ) and what is an HDR file? Security log: 0 entries Event log: 1,950 entries "Access denied attempting to launch a DCOM server using DefaultLaunchPermission.The server is (00020906-0000-0000-0000-000000000046).The user is unavailable SID=Unavailable"...Source: DCOM 97% of event log is the above statement...many within minutes of each other?
