hi yall, ive got kubuntu installed on a 50Gb+ partition, i want to resize the partition, got a bootable CD to resize, instead of restoring the boot sector or MBR, if i were then to install (e.g. Mandriva) then i think mandria's bootloader would take control and automatically add existing partitions to the bootloader menu, is this correct ?

Yes, you can choose whether you want Mandriva's bootloader to be used or use your existing one and add the menu entries and options yourself. The first option is easier though.

Not a problem. Mandriva should have that capacity in the control panel or whatever its called. KDE has that option built in as well. You could always do it manually also. Your system isn't screwed, it just needs some config.
