Hey, is F.E.A.R Extraction Point the exact same graphics as F.E.AR, because i seem to lag like s**t in Extraction point yet i can go almost highest settings in normal F.E.A.R and not lag, same for multiplayer outdoors too :s.

Yeah, from what I *hear*, the graphics are a little more rigorous somehow. And from what I've seen playing it, that's definitely the case.

I wish i heard that earlier :p, i got so frustrated i thought maybe windows is messed up or some software has messed everything up and gone and restored windows, oh well, it needed to be done anyway.

I finally put Windows on my Seagate drive, so anything with the hard drive is snappier now, and that's helped in gaming, including FEAR.

I think after i upgrade to the 8800GTS i should move to SATA II, my server can have the IDE hard drives.

Wow, thanks for the heads up as I was prepaired to buy it judging at how (surprisingly) well it ran on my rig. But I might have to postpone that one. It's a little odd that it would be more demanding as the system requirements are the same or very close I belive. Maybe it's got HDR or something.

The difference between the two games (on my rig anyway) are only 3-7FPS on 12x10 res, but that loss was easily regained by overclocking a little. If anything, the lighting is improved a little. But I guess that's the price you pay for getting a freakier game.

My CPU is overclockers to 2.8ghz, cant overclock my graphics card coz its rubbish, but i was able to play F.E.A.R on nearly max settings even outside, now on F.E.A.R XP, you get to that window as your going tot op of the building, and you see like a church thing in the distance of something, and its unplayable for me, even at 1024 x 768 and medium settings!

Man that seems pretty unreasonable to me. Wonder if they've patched the game yet?

Nothing yet. 1024x768 is definitely not an issue. I can play FEAR at 1600x1200, but I usually run it at 1280x960 like my desktop res. FEAR XP is a little laggy when the action really ratches up, but it could be worse.

Yes but i wanted to have F.E.A.R XP at almost maximum graphics settings like i did with F.E.A.R, but something is causing a performance loss even though the graphics looks the same.

completely, the rig will tear though FEAR XP and likely have little trouble if any with R6 Vegas.

Which do you think will run F.E.A.R XP Better, my X800XT PE or a 7600GT?

Probably the X800XT, they tend to score better with DX games like FEAR, the 7600GT will be a little better for Open GL stuff but generally the XT is a good bit faster as a general rule.
