after too many probems to mention on my pb notebook(f5287)...thought i'd fdisk and start again...except it ont even allow me to do that..after creating and activating the partition i shut down and restart to format drive c:..everything ok so far then after waiting around 20 minutes (goes to 99%) message comes up FORMAT INCOMPLETE..COPY PROTECTION ERROR...after this i cant reboot to old .os...and it wont allow me to format or fdisk to do fresh install....any suggestions!!!!!!
Why are you using fdisk to format your HDD? Are you using a member of the Windows 9x family (e.g. 95, 95B, 98, 98SE, ME)? If not just pop in your NT4/Windows 2000/Windows XP disc and use the installer to format your HDD.
