Has anyone got Final Fantasy XI? If so whats your opinions on it. I'm a big FF fan but wasn't sure to get it as its based online. Wanna know if its just online, wether its suitable for dial-up, and how it compares to other FF games in the series.
At this point in time, I would suggest you go for another game like Wow, Guild Wars, etc over FFXI. In my opinion, it takes only a short time to get bored of it. Your first few level-ups come quickly and then it becomes longer and longer and looonnggger 'till your next level. While I haven't played any other MMORPGs, I think FFXI is more or less a thing of the past. It probably would've been significantly more fun if you had joined a year or so ago. As far as dail-up goes, I couldn't really say as I've never played that game without broadband, so I hope someone else can help you there. The only specific reason I'd find for playing this game right now is if you are so into the FF series that you want to play it for braggin rights (ie: "hey guys, I've played ALL of the Final Fantasy's"). So all in all, it's entertaining to me, but only for a short while.
Well, i just wanna play all the FF games, i still play the really old ones like FFVII and that. I will eventually get it anyway, just when i dunno. FF is always gonna be big and i suppose it comes down to opinion really. Thinking about getting broadband anyway so if its not too good on dial-up i'll switch earlier maybe. If anyone plays it on dial-up though tell me how good it is.
To be really honest with you, FFXI is one of the worst MMORPGs out there, it's fun at first but after a while it just gets dull and repetetive, especially when you have to solo as a mage character. I'm a huge fan of the FF series but I wouldn't recommend the game, I deleted my account about a month ago, it goes well after your first two ranks, but after that you need to go around getting reputation points from doing silly little errands before you can get to a new quest, let alone rank.
