Ok, Ive just downloaded the second beta of the new firefox...... and there seems to be a problem! when following a link from here [hwf] to a product on ocuk firefox seemed to be trying to download the images from hwf! If you have the second beta can you please try this: look in this thread (but dont go yet! read the rest of this first!) Click the link in the THIRD post that points towards the ARCTIC COOLING FREEZER Keep your eye on the lower left hand corner of firefox (it will say 'Done' at the moment as it will not be loading anything. When you click the link it will say the usual about transfering stuff from www.overclockers.co.uk, and then WTF, why is it now trying to get stuff from www.hardwareforums.com? What happend for me was the page loaded without any of the images [for some stupid reason i think it was trying to get the images from hwf, but it kept on swirching between "connecting" and "waiting" for www.hardwareforums.com] where do i report this? or has it allready been reported? (i only got the 2nd beta a few hours ago) or is this just happening to me? *edit* you can get the 2nd beta from http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/ *edit*
I'm not running Beta2, so I can't really identify with you. I suggest, however, for you to go to http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38 and look around a bit to see if you can find your problem. If you're having it, then someone else is bound to. Also, you may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling Beta2 and seeing if it works with the reinstall.
I feel like an idiot. I just went through all that and was about to post that it worked fine, then I remembered I'm running beta 2 on my laptop, and I'm on my desktop now, which has 1.0.7. I'll try it on my laptop tomorrow. I will say that I have some noticible bugs with beta 1, but now that I am beta 2, things seem a lot smoother. I personally tend to prefer stable releases myself though.
The only problem i have with beta2 is that the scroll bar vanished, other than that everything is fine!
Its a strange fault but it only happens 'once' per page cos when it fails you just hit refresh and it loads the images :ff: If it wasnt that the beta is SOOO sweet i woudl still be using the stable release! slight off topic but if your are using firefox i would really recoment This plugin, to set it up (once installed) goto tools > CustomizeGoogle options and click every box under ever tab! It does everything from removing adverts in all of googles services (incl gmail) to adding links to other search sites (that when you click preform the search in another site)
Exact same problem for me (the images from Overclockers that is, my side bar is always there). I dunno, I have to have the latest, even if it means it does not work 100%. But if I remember, on the Firefox site they do have a contact for bugs report - http://www.mozilla.org/quality/bug-writing-guidelines.html I am sure they will be happy to hear from you. If it really bugs you (get it? LOL) just re-install using a stable version. Good luck.... even with bugs it still beats the alternatives... doesn't it?
