    Firefox noob question!

Hey, I have a quick question about FF -- I figured it would be pointless to make a whole new thread since this thread's already here. Is there a way to disable the "downloads" box from popping up? It's getting on my nerves, actually. It's a sensible feature for long downloads (and when I actually d/l something to disk) but it's quite pointless when I open up a tiny word or pdf file without even saving it anywhere. It just pops up to tell me that it's done downloading ... wow, thanks a lot, little window. Now I have to close you.

Actually, you should've created a new thread since it's not the same thing as the original post. That, and you're much more likely to get noticed if you don't have your question buried in another thread.

To disable the download box in FF, go to Tools-->Options--->Downloads. You'll have an option to toggle the download box.

    Firefox noob question!

I was thinking this the other day. It is really annoying! Opera's download manager is far superior
