hi there..i just downloaded some theme files for firefox..i brought home the downloaded files..it was saved as a compressed folder..so i extracted the contents..now im trying to figure out how exactly will i install them into firefox 1.0.6. There is an install.rdf file but i dont know which program will open it...
well normally your supposed to download them in firefox and it automatically opens a download window and installs them! As far as i remember they are in .jar format, is there a .jar file in it?
Yes, the only way I'm aware of is to download it via Tools>>Themes. Perhaps place the files within firefoxs directory, assuming it has a folder called themes? EDIT: I just checked, in Firefoxs directory, there is a folder: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensions In extensions is an RDF file, so that may be of some use.
I've seen your problem before. In the other case, it was due to a corrupted Firefox download. Re-download Firefox and try again.
is there a themes folder in Firefox's directory?i havnt got any themes folder..i installed firefox 1.0.6
open firefox > tools > themes > and then drag your downloaded .jar file onto the themes window and it will install the theme!
that doesnt work either..the downloaded file is in .jar format..i tried dragging it to the themes window but that still didnt install the files..is there any other way????
Make sure you drag the .jar file onto the left side of the themes windows and you should get a message as follows > http://www.321imagehosting.com/files/firefox_theme_install.jpg If this doesnt work id re-download firefox, preferably from the Mozilla website!
problem is solved now..actually i went online,,downloaded a theme (noai extrem..) into firefox..then changed the theme..then went into the themes window n dragged down the downloaded themes..n ha!!!it installed finally..so the problem was that it didnt show that message when i was actually using the default firefox theme..but it did install when i used a different theme..anyway thanks ....if anyone has this problem,,u know what to do
