I think in my village Unleaded Fuel is at 106.9p (about $2.12) per litre, and diesel is about 116.9 (about $2.30) per litre. Luckily our car does about 40mpg otherwise we'd be really poor!
The UK has one of the highest price of patrol in Europe due to high Tax and plus if you been watching the news lately the price of oil has gone up to $115 per barrel  also China is to blame for rise in petrol. But TBH we don't have gas guzzling cars like you Americans do, although a lot more people are buying 4x4 cars in UK.
WOW.... thats like $8 dollars a gallon... On the gas guzzler thing, a lot of people do drive very large SUVs for no real reason, but, in the same sense, there aren't that many places in the US where mass transit is feasible, and at the same time, most people live a long ways from work, so walking is also out of the question. Also, a lot of work in the US requires larger trucks, in order to haul and move things, also it really just comes down to a fundamental problem in the way our cities are laid out.
US is probably the largest consumer of oil/petrol then any country in the world. oh and your complaining about how your cities are laid out you should come down to the UK especially London and see how our roads are, like spaghetti lol, at least you Americans have the sense to create straight roads. BTW that’s why us Europeans joke about your cars only been able to go in a straight lol.
?????? i'm not really sure how any of that applied, but yeah, it goes something like us, they the UK, then China and India, which are catching up to us pretty quickly. What i was saying about our city layout has nothing to with the roads, but the physical layout, like where residential areas are in vicinity to commercial areas and such.
