formating windows XP

    i need alot of help formatting my computer. does any one know how to format there hdd from windows or know how to format a different way?? thanks

    Well you can do what I did, which was to pretend I knew what I was doing and delete the primary boot sector by accident. That means once you restart you can't get back in, and so a full XP install is what I had to do.

    To do it properly, first back up all the important stuff you need, then reboot the PC with the windows XP CD in the drive. When asked to boot from the CD, do so, and then follow the instructions, you get to choose how big to make the partition, and how to format it.

    Yes that would be how. But if you are formatting a hard drive other than the one XP is installed on (doubtful but I'll cover all the bases) you can do this through Administrative Tools.
