Frames per Second?

How do you find out how many FPS you are getting? I seen a screenshot of Oblivion somewhere and it had a display to show how many FPS there were.
 
Open console with ~ or ` depending on region and type in TDT for oblivion

other games have different console commands.

alternatively download Fraps and load it, then play the game of your choice. It will display the FPS.
 
Thanks guys, I downloaded Fraps. Its really easy to use. But I realized I was only getting 60 fps max in Call of Duty United Offensive Multiplayer; 30 fps in crowded areas. ......... Oh well, that's what I get for having a mobo with no AGP or PCI-E graphics, I have a :swear: PCI graphics card.
 
Why is 60 and 30 fps a bad thing? Its more than your tele is running at.
Anything below 25 and it gets a bit crappy.

PCI cards are grim :) I had a voodoo 5500 PCI card, upgraded (!) to an AGP mx420 which wasnt much better though. My voodoo was actually better in GTA3!
 
depending where im at in a game i get from 160 to 0 the 0 was in a game with 1.4 million bots and the server crashed to :) :)
 
zeus where did u get your sig or did u make it that is the best one i ever seen i wanna put on something
 
I stole it from a site with loads of funny pictures.

I couldnt make a sig if I spent all year at it :)
 
what site i have the proble that it shows my computers just kinda sits there a lot trying then it says no not goona do that buddy then gose poof
