Hi all I want to completely and securely wipe my laptop's HDD. I want the HDD to have nothing retrievable on it. obviously I would need a program which will run from floppy on start-up. Most important - it need to be free! Any suggestions? Thanks for looking!
Personally I prefer to wipe sensitive data as I go with a little file shredder program but for your needs Sourceforge seems the place to start looking
I'd suggest Darik's Boot and Nuke (Hard Drive Disk Wipe) I've used it before selling a laptop, It gives options to wipe using certain standards e.g. American Department of Defence.
