Well, it's summer in Japan now in the world of Full Metal Panic! This doesn't mean that the action is out. Tessa and Melissa get into a big argument culminating with an AS duel, Souske helps in an AS competition and ends up going to his native home in the Middle East. Starting with this volume, ADV is offering 3 episodes per disc instead of 4 as seen in the first 3 volume. I like my money's worth as far as episodes per disc go, but if the liscensing company splits it out with less, well there's not much you can do.

The Tultha DeDannan is back at it's MITHRIL base for maintenence, and the list of repairs is the last straw for Tessa. She goes to her room only to find Melissa Mao smoking and drinking up a storm. Push comes to shove and the end result is the two ready for an AS duel. Winner doesn't get anything, but the loser...well, she get's to do a lap around the MITHRIL base butt naked! To prep herself, Tessa enlists Souske to help her get ready. While still very clumsy, she proves to have very sound strategic skills. But is that enough to keep her out of her birthday suit?

Souske and some of his classmates (Shinji, Chidori, Mizuki, and Kyoko) make their way to a festival involving a competition between AS teams. Shinji's father is the head of the base the festival is hosted at, and has been at odds with his son. His other problem is that his AS team, Narashiro, has always lost to it's rival team, Nerima...the Nerima Red Dragons. Souske sees some foul play on Nerima's part, and jumps into action, covertly as possible. Chidori sees this, and, of course, goes off.

Must not be his time yet. Gauron is a hard man to kill, and is very much alive despite what happened the last time he came around. Regardless, MITHRIL wants him dead, and has Souske as part of the assassination team deployed. Before Souske and his new comrades make it to Helmajistan, he's got to survive the team's general dislike for him, being so young. Fortunately, the one sympathetic soul, Gray, is able to divert some of the rudeness. Once it Helmajistan, they set out to kill Gauron.

Summary

Despite the extra characters being added in episode 15, ADV still has quality voice acting for them. Usually, characters that appear for a short time get substandard voice acting jobs, but not here. Packaging is the same as the other volumes, and the extras are pretty bare. I least like the fact that ADV has been able to put out an extra DVD due to changing the number of episodes per disc, but, there's nothing that I can do about it. Still, a good series shouldn't be bogged down by minor issues like that, and I still recommend keeping up with this series.
