    Hi, How are you?

Recently my PC motherboard died. it was Gigabyte GA-8I915PMF-AE. I am unable to find replacement for it in same series in town. Today i saw motherboard "GA-965GM-DS2" which almost what i need and would like to buy it.

Now my Question is this, my old DDR (PC3200 CL2.5) RAM Will it work on this board (GA-965GM-DS2) or do i need buy DDR2 in order to make the ends meet. I do not have budget to buy DDR2 unless there is no way out.

My PC was Acer Aspire T620 - M96X
    P4 3.40Ghz (800 1MB)
    ATI X300SE

Could anyone help me out, if i can get away without buying DDR2. If I can will it effect Motherboard ?

    Thank you very much.

I wish you a great day.

    Sincerely,
    ITDevil

No, your DDR RAM will NOT work at DDR2 slot. And DO not try to put DDR into DDR2 slot. This can be harmful for your system.

yup DDR has 184 connecting pins whereas DDR2 has 240 pins, so they won't physically fit[ot]not that i'm in the habit of counting pins[/ot]& i think DDR2 operates at a lower voltage
