Is the $500 price tag for the crippled PlayStation 3 historically high or low? I did a bit of number crunching to try to put that number in perspective. These graphs tell the story: See the graphs here
I dont think so that price is the main concern for the Heavy Gamers. Everything depends on the Games coming out with the console, personal attachment and graphics display's. During the previous time, when PS3 comes out with $300 Tag, it was a big amount for that time so as $500 for today.
Ive seen worse. Like the 3DO was priced at $700 in 1993 and had about one playable original game. The other better games were just ports of good pc games like doom and wolfenstine. At least with the ps3 you have a few games to look forward too.
