I am giving myself a Christmas gift (early) of a new PC. The only problem is, I am terrible when it comes to the hardware portion of the computing world! I am looking to get the best gaming PC I can for $1,000 and under. The highest price I would go is $1,100 but do try and stay under $1,000!

    My current PC/Crap-Bucket:

Tell me if you need more precise info!

As you can most certainly tell, it sucks. Horribly. I originally bought my PC at a time where I didn't play many games. I played video games mostly on my Xbox 360, but have long since abandoned that horrid thing.

I would like to keep anything I possibly can from this rig, but don't expect to be able to keep much. Remember, the cheaper the better! The things that I wish to keep are:

    • Monitor(s) (28 inch and a 1080p TV)
    • Mouse (Razer Deathadder)
    • Keyboard (Razer Lycosa)
    • Headset/Sound System (Astro A40 with Mixamp)
    • I am fine with the size of my hard drive, but if it is slow, scrap it.

I don't have any preference towards any particular brands, and don't care about how flashy my case is. A simple black metal box will do just fine. All I want from this rig is to be able to play games as best as I can for under $1,000.

Thanks a bunch for reading, and hopefully helping me out! I don't want to come across as a leecher, but I really need some help with this. I am tired of having to play current games, such as Might and Magic 6, in a 800x600 window with the lowest possible settings. Even then I can only pull off about 10-15 FPS!

Thanks for all of your help!
