Hey guys. I am pretty sure that I am going to get the 5900, because I have heard and agree that its the best "bang for the buck" card out there right now. I was wondeirng if yhall agreed? People told me not to get the 5900 pro because the 5900 could be easily overclocked to get the 5900 pro speeds. Any info yhall have about this card would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Personnally I wouldn't buy a Geforce FX because it as poor DX9 performance and the image quality suffers from that, as well as the performance.

I'd get the ATI 9800 non-pro which is in the same price range if I were you. There's a OEM Sapphire @newegg for $243.

I agree with harrack52, the 9800np is much better bang-for-$ than the 5900FX. The true DX9 support alone is worth it, but I also like the pixel shading engine better on the 9800. Just stay away from ATI if you're a Linux gamer. In that case you'd be much better off with a GeForce. ATI's Linux driver support to this point has been less than desirable.

the 5900 is W4nk for its price in my opp. the 9800 pro is a much more beastie card and i got mine for £210 :D:D

well I can have a 9800 Pro for cheaper than that...too bad my 9800np let itself be flashed so easily.... :p

don't try and compete with these people pcgamer72!, i have a fx 5200, and i think its great, it runs all the games i have ever used, including very demanding ones, and if your happy with buying the card and want it "then get it", i paid £55 for mine and its the best £55 i have ever spent, most of the members on here only care about competing with eachother, and gaining the best benchmarks the can possibly get, and if that means they have to fork of hundreds of pounds then they will it's called "sad", so dont listen to these geeks mate, if your happy with you current pc spec, and it works for your needs then sod all these sad geeks!!!

Actually, you're very misinformed about the benchmarks competition. Yes, we do have a forum section for benchmarks, but we are not about just that. We advise people what would be the best hardware for their price point. I've not seen people constantly buying something new. I have, however seen many people wanting to know what's the best stuff to buy right now.

Now, there are some people that will invest in the fastest and/or most overclockable stuff, LN2 (liquid nitrogen) setups, do extreme volt mods, and other stuff I can't say I'd be willing to do, just to run 3Dmark a few times and post a few results before their hardware goes poof.

Now if you want to show us where all the competing is going on, I'd love to see the links.

EDIT: IGDIABLO, you are entitled to your opinion. However, there are proper ways to state it and if you're gonna' start flame wars, I'm telling you, the war won't be long.
