Hello, I'm a new member of this board and I hope to have nice time here. I'm an (almost) 19 year old boy from Belgium. A few months ago I bought myself a new portable computer (Mitac Minote 8060). The grahics card is a Geforce FX GO 5200 with tv out. My problem: when I connect my laptop to my tv (Philips) I see my computer booting and the windows xp loading bar (on tv and laptop screen), but when the real windows mode is loaded, my tv screen isn't detecting a signal anymore. I'm using the nview software and I also tried tvtool. What can be the problem?
Ok. I've done it once so I'm not sure if I remember correctly. It's normal that you lose the signal the first time. What you have to do is go to the display properties, click on the second monitor and check the box that says:"extend my desktop onto this monitor" In french (not sure if you have windows in french or not), it should be something like: Étendre le bureau sur cet écran. That's with Windows XP
French is second language in Belgium I speak Dutch, like they do in Holland (but our accent is nicer ) I think I found the solution for my problem, someone told me on another forum to enable the output signal with FN+F5. Thanks for your help anyway.
I thought I solved the problem. But I didn't FN+F5 wasn't the right solution. Yesterday I noticed that I get a screen when I startup in Windows xp safe mode OR when I uninstall the nvidia drivers. But in those cases I only had a resolution of 800*600... And uninstalling drivers or the windows safe mode isn't cool to watch movies... Has it something to do with Nview?
It's got to be a software problem, that's for sure, because you do get an image from when it boots, so the hardware does work. I would play with different drivers and see which is the best one. Also, although they're really not the best ones, you might wanna' try the windows drivers just to see if it's gonna' work.
