Golden Text and Animated Shine - Part 1

    Part 1

    Okay in this tutorial I'll be telling you how to make some nice gold text. Then there'll be part 2 animating a shine for it.

    Open your document and add your text in black in your preferred font. (I just used TImes New Roman for this...)

    Not go to Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options and apply these settings:

    That's it - simple isn't it!

    Now to take it a simple step further - so you don't have to remember the basic settings - we'll make a new style for it so you can apply it with a single click!

    Right click on the text layer and click 'Copy Layer Style'.

    Now open a blank document with the background set as transparent. Right click on the blank layer in the new document and select 'Paste Layer Style' to copy the golden style to it.

    Find your styles palette (this could be in one of many palces depending on your personal PS layout.

    At the bottom click the middle icon and name your style 'Golden Text'.

    Now whenever you want to apply that style to something simply click on that style icon in your Styles palette and it's done!
