Does anyone know of any really good soccer games out now? The only one I ever played was VR soccer which was great fun about 7 years ago (The counties skill levels were actually depicted quite accurately though). But I'd like to try one again now that things have evolved a bunch since then and I'm more into the sport. Can anyone help me out...Nic?
FIFA is good, but many people rate Pro Evolution soccer 3/4 as being superior. Although they don't have the real names of the players.
Yeah Pro Evloution is one of the best I hear....some of my friends have what they call 'Pro-Fest' every few months, they just have a massive tournament playing it. They dont have the real names of the players as they dont have the liscence for that...whereas fifa does...fifa is the only football (soccer) game i've played.

Pro Evolution 4 is easily the most superior football game in terms of life likeness (not with the names of course is terms of how you play the game). Fifa Street is pretty good at keeping me entertained and I hear fifa 2006 will be a classic but I doubt it will better Pro Evo 4 so if I was you id go with that
I could get FIFA 2k6 at amazon on October 5th or so and I may very well as I do like to get a bit of background with actual team accuracy but if Evo 4 is superior then it creates a tough dilemma, I'll check prices I guess.
any Pro Evolution Soccer game is great, I used to like Fifa but PES is the best football game no questions asked! I think its known as Winning Eleven in the USA?

yeah i was a big FIFA fan until i saw PE5 once, it just looked better and my friends love it, they have a 'Pro-Fest' every now and then, its a big tournament (at school anyway) they made which they enter for for like £5, have to qualify and winner gets the money, simple but they all have a great time, it goes on for weeks and they even got the headmaster to do the football draw for it to see who plays who, thats how much they love the game!
FIFA 2006 is getting big raves, it comes out over here on Friday on PS2, Xbox, NDS. Not looking forward to that... gonna be busy with everyone buying it and returning FIFA 2005, this is what I hate about football games...
Pro Evolution series is a much better, although the teams do not have to real names its gameplay that counts. Pro Evo has a much more life like feel and delivers a much more difficult challenge. FIFA is for more n00bish gamers, although i do not knock it, it still a good game but does not have the same feel. Also, Pro Evo has the master league which is a great concept, it allows you to start with a rubbish team and buy/sell players to eventually take it to the top. Very good for playing with mates too.
Pro Evo 5 is gonna be better than the rest because they've actually got the licence to use the real teams now, people are already saying they're looking forward to it. Comes out on the 21st October in the UK. FIFA '06 is meant to be better than the other ones in the series but from what I've heard it's still got some bad things about it.
