Google implies Microsoft/Yahoo hookup will ruin the Internet Yeah, the first part of the article does seems a little bit far fetched, but the second half makes real sense. Microsoft could limit people to only their webmail, and only their IM service, that i could see happening. Really though, if they did make such a move, i actually think that might be a good thing. No, i'm not crazy, say they do decide to go all commie on us. At that point, i think people, as well as publishers/companies might start looking to alternatives.... Or, people will be people, and just take it...
This is indeed dangerous. If MS succeeds in buying Yahoo, they'll have a high-rated search engine and another webmail/messaging service. If that should happen, then I hope that MS gets broke and some different company will buy MS. But Yahoo can refuse getting bought by MS right? They can't force Yahoo to do such a move.
No, they can't make them, but like it said in the article, Microsoft has very shady ways, and does some unscrupulous methods, sooo yeah, who knows at this point.
