Hi, as you may of seen in another thread i have being complaning of how low the frame rate is in GTA SA (20-40fps), well i have an X800XT PE which should apparently be getting about 60 fps on super max settings, is there anyone else out there with a card in the X800 series, and that has any simaler problems with GTA SA?
Every card, every system is different. The FPS you read in benchmarks are not realistic to actual gameplay. Many benchmarks for Unreal games, for example, say that a system of my spec should be in the 100's, whereas it rarely touches 75 ingame. Don't worry about the FPS, so long as it looks good and plays good, its fine.
I'd agree but he said it was freezing up on him too. That is very frustrating but I really don't know what it could be. To bad you don't have another copy of GTA to try to see how it runs in case you just got a bad copy.
i will try my windows xp troubleshooting partition (one i use to test everyhitng if i have problems on my main one). no i disagree with waffle, becouse i honistly dont belive that in some parts of GTA SA like las venturas, and on the freeway, i should be gettign 21 fps!, its laggs like hell at the many fps, and i belive i should at least be getting about 40 fps all over, even when every setting inc res is turned down to lowest, the fps difference is only 3!, come on guys, the graphics are no were near as good as doom 3, and the lowest fps i get in doom 3 on total max settings is about 40, its mostly at doom 3's limit of 60, so dont tell me GTA SA should be running at 21 fps, i know GTA SA is a game best played with nvidia, but DOOM 3 is best for nvidia too. also, i am sure that my old 9600 was getting better fps.
