I have a Guillemot racing wheel 2960398 that I would like to use under windows xp home. I have installed the supposedly winxp drivers from driverguide.com as well as from the original disc but nothing seems to happen when i try to load the software to set it up for using.
It does not appear in game controllers and is unknown device in Device manager when plugged into a USB port. I dont have a game port so cant use it that way.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated - I know it is old but is there no way to get it to play at all?

    Thanks in advance
    Steve

Thanks Karanislove for that but I have already followed the instructions there with no joy.My guess is that it simply isn't compatible with WinXP but I don't know how to find out for sure.
I guess i have to buy a new wheel simply because the company no longer supports it. Is it that hard for them to make a driver for it? Or do they just want everyone to have to buy new hardware regularly? Seems a shame as there is nothing wrong with the wheel - just old. ;(

Thanks again but my wheel is not force feedback - I know i should just replace it but i have only used it a few times in the last 4 years - i dont play many driving games. I just wanted to play the gt legends demo to see if i liked it and i cant tell using the keyboard too frustrating!

I would give it a go though but not for the £3ish they want me to pay to download it - may as well put it towards my next wheel:)

Sorry, I didnt go much advanced, I thought it was free but I have found something similar to your prob. check [link=http://www.ntcompatible.com/Microsoft_Sidewinder_Force_Feedback_Wheel_in_XP_Pro_-_Help_t29951.html]this[/link], there is a link for the drivers from microsoft website on this site... Try downloading that and there are some more solutions on it.
Again, I didnt find any driver from Guillemot but found force under it so thats why I am believing it might help u.

Edit: I 4got to mention that there are some related links at the bottom, check them as well.

No No luck there - I think they must only be for the sidewinder wheels.
    Oh well, I give up!
