ok, well i bought half life 2 wich included counter strike source, the problem is, i install the games, then try to launch the game, and nothing happens, i have tryed reinstalling it, but still, nothing happens.
you have to allow them to update and Decrypt the files after registration to Steam, the cds only contain encrypted files, steam decrypts them
no but the thing is, it installed it on my old computer, and i got onto this steam thing that asks you to create an steam account and then validate your key, that never came up on my new computer, so your telling me just cos i aint on a crap computer i have to wait like a couple of days to decrypt them. i also have a dvd version.
ah, i got it all installed and steam was working but when i enterd my cd key then pressed ok, it said to please install half-life 2 standard edition, so whats the problem now, its all in the same directory :s????
Just go to settings and enter your account details that you registered when you first installed the game. Then Steam will decrypt the files as normal.
all my account details are in there, but it still asks me to install half life 2 after entering cd key update (ah soz it turned out all i had to do was restart steam)
