My Hard disk on my laptop has just died. The hard disk was a Fujitsu MHN2200AT. One day it was okay and the next it couldnt be recognised in the bios.

I had a look around the internet and apparently this is a very common problem with these hard disks.

does anyone have any advise of what i can do. i know i will have to get a new hard disk.

can anyone recommend any good (and quite cheap) hard disks that are reliable??

I'm not as familiar with Laptop drives, but check out stuff from Seagate, Western Digital or Samsung. Hitatchi is probably okay too, but they've inherited IBM's infamous Deskstar line, so I'm wary of the effects of that. I haven't heard anything bad about Hitatchi drives, but it's just the bad mojo coming from the IBM stuff they bought.
