Hello, I have had this for 2 years:

Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Recently, I was having issues starting up windows. I would get a msg saying "bootmgr has failed".

So I remove my 500gb hard drive (that i listed above), and everything is fine.

The same happens when I put this hdd into my brother's pc.

Did it stop working? How can I fix this?

    Thanks!

    Specs:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ 2.5ghz
    2GB 800mhz DDR2 ram
    Nvidia Geforce 8600GT
    main hdd: 153gb
2nd hdd: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive (the problem one)

Unless your brothers PC is the exact same make and model then it will not work.. The drivers will all be different. I would piggy back the bad hard drive and try to fix it..
