    Hi,

I dropped my laptop yesterday, half caught it but it still took a nasty blow. It initially continued working as normal, but then after a while it beeps a few times and then crashes. If you switch it on, it will work for a brief period of time and then beeps and crashes again.

I really need some help in order to try and rectify this problem or simply retrieve all my documents. Is the best thing to do to give it to a specialist or is there something I can do?

    THanks very much.

At what point does it beep and crash? And can you say if it gives you a beep code or its just a short/long beep.

I'd say that your HD is damaged, but not certain. You can take out the drive and either find a laptop hd-ide converter to put it in another computer or give it to a tech.
