I had my bios fixed on my IBM ThinkPad R40 and now I am getting a 0192 error. The error basically says that the an embedded security chip detected that there was hardware that was tampered with. Is there any way around it? Thanks Colton
The only way around it I can think of is... Drown it, and never buy an IBM again... On a more serious note, some PC manufacturers are very stubborn when it comes to modifying what they've sold you. For example, a new bios could possibly be a modded bios with overclocking features, and manufacturers don't like you getting more out of your PC than they've already given you. They want you to buy a new laptop/PC instead. The only solution might be to flash it back to the previous bios But there are some bright minds on here who might be able to tell you otherwise Mike
See if there is a jumper on the motherboard, other than that id go back to the old bios too. If you've had this problem the chances are there are plenty of other too. Do some googles for you pc and problem, there might be a quick fix for it.
