hi, first time on this thread, getting desperate ;P

I have a nVidia geforce ti4200. after a lot of troubleshooting i think this may be my problem. about 3 monthes ago, i started to get a lot of static in black areas on my desktop/apps/games. the static (or the real problem) leads to my crashing out of a lot of them with GL errors -- which leads me to believe that its a vid card error. the card is about a year old, and im running a oc'd 700 to 933. been runnin jus fine for 3 years now, great cooling, no overheating, and i just tonight reset the oc to regular process. i am about to reinstall a diff format of windows (from win2k) to see if that works out for me. i love 2k, im not terribly interested in reinstalling at this point since my comp is a bit old. i will be building a new one within the next 3-4 monthes, but that hurts my access to my beloved one right now.

prob is usually just crashing in any game. static in all progs. when i run a game, cpu for some reason runs 100% which obviously is the reason it crashes. ive googled, no dice :( maybe its not the vid at all, im not sure. ive man handled my comps resources but isnt that what theyre for?! :p for the time being until a new comp, and before i have to do the dreaded reinstall (just because of the randomness of my comp), anyone have some insight to why my comp been actin up? replys would be appreciated. Thanks!

btw: reinstalled hardware and drivers. uninstalled everything new since problem, including registry. guess i suck? ehe

Have you ran memtest x86? I think it could be your RAM, Processor. Your power supply is also a possibility
