So I have a MSI P35 Neo3 motherboard and I want to put a HD capture card into it The cap card I want to use is this one (here) and it says its a PCI-Express x1 Interface I look at my MB specs page (here) and it says I got two PCI-Express slots available. One is a x16 and the other x1 My GeForce 8800GT graphics card is in the x16 slot so it leaves me with a x1 slot. I am worried that a x1 slot will not be powerful enough for me to capture video at full 1080i does anybody know if a PCI-e x1 slot could handle that cap card at full 1080i ?
I use a different brand of tuner card, but it works flawlessly for 1080i in a pci-e x1 slot. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815706001
Sorry, I forgot to add that it needs to be with HDMI connection because I plan to plug my video camera in there. But it does bode well that your PCIe x1 slot can take the load of a 1080i signal with no problems, so thanks for letting me know. I have noiced something else though, my PCIe x1 slot is incredibly close to my PCIe x16, so with my graphics card in there I'm not sure there is enough room for my new cap card (or if it does fit its going to block the air flow to the cooling fan). Do you have the same issue? Check out the pic of my motherboard to see what I mean. http://www.3dnews.ru/_imgdata/img/2008/02/15/74429.jpg
