HD LCD tv/pc screen

im after a HD LCD tv/pc screen,

i found a nice acer screen but i hardly know anything about new tvs so could u guys tell me if theres anything wrong with it?

im wanting it for using a PC monitor (gaming and browsing the net) also watching films from my pc in HD and then just normal TV as well.

it will be going in my bedroom so size seems about right. my rooms tiny anyway.

If you would like to go for gaming then I think this product is not for you because its response time, which is 16ms is very slow. Other than that, for Home THeatre purposes, like watching DVD's...its a good buy.
 
i have never really understood these response times, what exatly does it do, my monitor is 12ms and for example, in GTA San Andreas, when i turn around a computer, it like goes blured, is that becouse of the response time? From what i see all large monitors or TV's have response time of 18+
 
hmm, is 16m realy bad if i was wanting to use it for gaming as well? :( (im not the biggest game but i dont like gaming with friends now and then.)

just did abit of searching for screens around same price all seem to have 16m or just dont bother saying it (even tryed google'ing the model number and other sites havnt bothered putting it in so its eather 16m or more im guessing)

also say if i was sitting around 2feet away from it would that make me see stuff to close and think its not as good quality as to if i was sitting alot far away?

oh and it says its got Picture by Picture (PBP) would i be able to set it up so my pc is at 1 side (running on DVI) and laptop on the other side of the screen (running on VGA)?

ok firstly the response times.

1) if you play first person shooters like counterstrike or san andreas seriously as wills said you need an 8ms or less. I have an 8ms and i play lots of cs and it's fine. If you are a casual gamer then 12ms is fine.

2) you need to make sure that the response time they put on the adds is the rise and fall time. The equation is like this rise+fall=resp time. some places only qoute the rise and leeds you away from the truith.

3) the bigger the screen the slower the response time.(generally) Like a 20" lcd at 8ms is (if they even make them) gonna set you back a lot.

4) the blur you see ist the lcd rise and fall not keeping up with the frame rates.(its not as bad as it sound in willz's description though)

So basically im for lcd.its space saving and its looks( both asthetic and teh certain brightness that you get with lcd) are awsome.and if youre not playing in the world cyber games then lcd rocks!.

2 feet = 60.96 centimeters

im not a big gamer so im sure the response time wont be all that annoying or very noticeable. i hope.

what about ghosting? someone commented on a site saying that he got abit of ghosting in cod2 and fear also some other games but thats all i can remember.

is ghosting all that bad or can i get use to it? :P
i take it it doesnt happen in films or anything?
 
ghosting is the blur effect of pixels not rising and falling fast enough to keep up with fast paced games and high frame rates. It wont bother you in moveis. my opinion is that ghosting is made out to be really bad but its normally not an issue. I hardly notice the tiny blur i get in cs anymore.

what is the resp time on the one you want to get?
 
i think the response time is 16ms what it says on that review of it anyways.

how fast would the frame rates need to be for the "ghosting" thing to happen?
