Is it ppossible to plug my laptop into the HD socket on my TV? There is a PC monotor cable imput which I use, and it seems ok with a resolution of 1024 x 768, with a resonably good picture!!

    Interested in any reply!!

Well, I am not sure if there are VGA to HDTV adapters but if you have an S-Video connector then you can get an adapter.

For what it's worth I do belive that HDMI and DVI are compatable with each other, assuming you have a HDMI/dvi port on you TV and a VGA to DVI adaptor is possible...

Beefy yet resonable requirements on 1080p there. So long as you have a really big LCD or 21" CRT.
