Hello guys I need your help SAP! --PROBLEM: I am into digital video editing and I am using an 120gb Hard Disc (Through an external USB2 box) for my video files for the last year or something and yesterday the most strange thing happened. I will recall you the events in series: 1. I connected my external HDD-box as usual. Everything OK. 2. I open NERO to burn some data from the external HDD-box but while writing on DVD-RAM NERO crashed and i had to alt+Ctrl+Del to exit. 3. I get a msg from Win XP's task bar that it had a Write FAilure Error on one of the hard discs and suddently the computer goes BLUE Screen crazy and starts dumbing memory. This has happened a more than a few times before and I always ignore it. 4. i shut down my PC through the POWER button because i am bored and go watch GHOSTBUSTERS for the 100th million time. Everything OK. 5. I start up my PC to burn that dvd-ROM again. Everything OK. 6. I connect my HDD-box again but i see that it doesnt get regognized. Everything NOT OK! 7. I reconnect my HDD-Box various times but i see that i my luck is little, the HDD doesnt get regognized so I head over to MY COMPUTER. I start to get scared. 8. In my computer i can see the external HDD but I also SEE THAT MY PARTITION IS LOST. EVERYTHING NOT OK BY A MILLION! 9. I try various stuff with my last solution being running "RECOVER MY FILES" which is a REcoveirngLostFiles SW. I have been running it for 7hours, 20min and 24sec and it's still like 20% done or something like that..... My problem is that if i let it to finish it will take more than a day and YES it will find my lost files but they have all lost their original filenames which is a major problem for me if you concider that I have a gazzillion files. --QUESTION: 1.Is there a way to relocate the missing partition back to it's original state? and 2.IF I can't do the above is there somekind of software that will help me get the old filenames back at least? Thanks guys I am waiting for your replys. Cheers.
you can't recover your file names, they're gone and theres no record of them. most likely your drive has had an internal failure, maybe from damage of just worn itself out and I cant think of anything to recover your partition .
