Headphone jack broken

I have a dell inspiron 1720 and the headphone jack is toast prohibiting any sound at all and i was wondering if there's a way to disable it completely and just rely on the onboard speakers.

Go to the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and you can configure the sound settings there.
