Headphones And Speakers

Hi guys, im assuming this is a pretty simple problem.

I have just bought a usb headphone set, when i plug it in it cuts out the sound of my other speaks which is suppose to happen, i know. I was wondering if theres any way to make it not cut out my other speakers? (for reasons i cant be bothered explaining xD) A setting? Or something?

Usualy you can go into your sound settings and set the output device. Which means you can have it plugged in and send the sound to another output. You can also do this on most applications so if you want to do it for a specific application you should be able to.
