    Hello,
I am quite a big gamer, but I'm on quite a tight budget. My main question is this: I have a fairly old motherboard, a QDI Kudoz 7. Any ideas whether this http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/components/processors/productView.htm?quicklinx=2CYP processor would work on it? My motherboard manual says only this:
    -Supports 200MHz/266MHz FSB
    -Supports AMD Socket-A Athlon "B" type(FSB is 200MHz)/"C" type(FSB is 266MHz) processors at 700MHz/750MHz/850MHz/900MHz/950MHz/1GHz/1.1GHz/1.2GHz/1.33GHz/1.4GHz and future processors
-Supports AMD Socket-A Duron processors at 600MHz/650MHz/700MHz/750MHz/800MHz/850MHz/900MHz/950MHz and future processors

My main worry is about the FSB, whether it would underclock itself to fit my motherboard...

    Thanks,
    Matt

I'm not very sure that CPU would be supported by the motherboard, and I'd wager the answer would likely be a resounding 'no'. Even if it does run, you're still working with an underclocked CPU.

I don't know what chipset your motherboard has, but my guess is that it's several years old, and probably not designed with that Athlon in mind.

That cpu might work, but it's definitely not supported.
