Hi all, this is my first post here, and I wasn't sure what thread to post this in, but I've searched several places and haven't found a good answer to this issue yet. I have a Microsoft Sidewinder mouse, and spilled soda on it. I flipped it upside down and let it sit for over a week before I tried using it again, and of course cleaned off the outside. It works fine now, but the 2 side buttons are sticky and the left mouse button will still in the down position if I hold it longer than a second (like highlighting something when copying/pasting). I'm hesitant to do anything to it because it was somewhat expensive, but I thought about possibly spraying it with electronics spray or if its possible opening the mouse up and trying to wipe it down from the inside. Any suggestions?
Youre best bet is to open it and give it clean, use a damp cloth to wipe any areas that feel sticky, make sure leave it to dry for a couple of days.
Thanks for the quick reply. Next question is: how do I open it? I dont' see any obvious screws, and don't want to just start prying with a screwdriver. I found directions for taking apart an intelimouse, but nothing so far on the sidewinder.
I find, usually there's a screw under the sticker, which contains the model number, logo etc, once you open that you have to carefully use a bit of force to pull it open.
