My system no longer displays any video. Is this motherboard toast?

To get the computer to boot from a DVD drive, I had to hit the reset button a few times during the boot sequences to Fedora F8. Suddenly the video went blank. I powered down and re-powered, but no luck. I removed the power cord for several hours, still no luck. The only thing I see and hear is the HDD light flicker and the heads move for a very short time; then nothing. The reset button appears not to work any longer.

When I remove the video connector, the monitor displays the no signal screen. I tried getting to the BIOS setup screen, but the screen remains blank. I hear no beeps.

The computer is about 10 years old. The processor is an AMD Duron. The BIOS chip is dated as 1999. I see no brand name on the MB. The board has 2 PCI slots and one older slot. There are two banks for memory.

I'm stumped as to what the problem might be.

The CMOS reset fixed the problem. I am back up and running. To think I almost scrapped this computer. Thanks very much.
