    Hi all

The reason I am posting here is because the problem seems to occure only on firefox running under linux. Kubuntu Feisty to be exact.
Please conceder the following URL - Southern Electric which is my energy provider. I would like to use the site from my Kubuntu install but I get the screen seen in the kubuntuff file attached (on the left). As you can see from the windowsff image attached (to the right), the 'kubuntu screen' is missing some vital links and functionalities.

There are plenty of errors reporting in the error-console of both versions. Most of them are to do with *.css somethingijibob. For example -
So, obviously somefink aint quite wight..... :p

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for looking....

weird, same happens with Swiftfox & it's worse in Opera, might be something simple like flash could be required, although if flash is required i usually tells you[ot]like you don't know that[/ot]BTW: your above me, trying to debug the html, but i think it's probably something simple

BTW: i'm using Feisty too[ot]DLing flash to try it[/ot]

Edit: this is weird, now (after installing flash 9) the page fully appears (for about a second) and then it changes to how it was before, trying opera!

On my box, I get the page exactly like you see it in Windows, on the condition that I'm blocking their flash/javascript with noscript. When I allow it, it looks exactly like it does for you in Linux. When I click a link, it takes me to the same frontpage that you see in Windows.

In other words, you probably just don't have all the plugins in Windows that you do in Linux, so the page is simply less annoying with the plugins turned off? Then again, it is written in ASP, so whatever black voodoo fuels IIS with ASP also burns in the dank bowels of that web server. You could have any manner of problems and I'd not be surprised! :)

Thanks AT (and Donkey)! So your saying that if I have noscript installed, I should be able to work this one? I suppose I can give it a go and see.... no harm in trying.....

Donkey, Wine still baffles me something terrible so I prefer to try something else before resorting to that... Thanks anyways.

Update: So here is the screen with Java disabled in FF. Thought I will give it a go... So I suppose it is NoScript if I want to use the site in Kubuntu....

no probs, but this hack works, Feisty makes it easier to use Wine

BTW: personally i use automatix, so, i don't have to worry about updates or repo's[ot]i don't think so, please correct me if i'm wrong[/ot]BTW: with Feisty you can even configure Wine from System Settings > Advanced[ot]after you install it[/ot]BTW: sorry i'm non-technical, but at least it works
    still
