    Hey guys. Heres the scenario.
I have a SATA drive running Windows 7. A friend of mine gave me his PC and asked in return that i backup some files from the drive and give it to him. So i hooked up his HDD to my PC. Booted up fine and copied his files to my HDD, planning to burn them on a CD afterwards. After that i loaded up Partition Magic to format his drive and it did.
Then i restarted my PC and BOOM my Windows 7 doesn't load. It freezes during the logo and then gets a quick blue screen and restarts. I don't know what went wrong or what i touched.
I tried fixing the mbr. I tried all those techniques. Believe me. Nothing worked. Only thing i'm thinking of doing is rebuding the partition but i'm afraid i'll lose my data.

I installed Vista on my friends HDD in hopes to access my HDD but its not displayed. However, Device Manager detects it.

So now i'm on the brink of losing mine and my friends data. Excellent.
Years back i used this program i booted up on a floppy disk and it allowed me to access my MFT and copy all the files i had on the corrupted disk to an external media (etc. floppy, usb drive...), Thats exactly what i need but can't find it.
Anyone know how i can get a program like this? Or a safe way to fic this problem? I need this data...

This is really a critical situation. But, you can reload Windows on your computer without thinking about data loss. After reloading the Windows, you may get all of the data back. But, be assure that after reloading the Windows, the first program you should run is any Windows Data Recovery software.
This is because until you do not utilize the space where data was stored, you can recover the data. One of the good data recovery software I have ever come across is Kernel Recovery for Windows. Try its evaluation version to trust the software.
