Higher O/s to Lower O/s

    hai frendz,
    i've installed vista os(or some higher os)in my pc, now i would like to remove the vista os ( or higher os ) and install the win xp ( or some lower ver os).
    and also i want to retain my all application softwares and documents.
    is it possible to change higher ver os to lower ver os with out lose of applications and documents?
    if its possible how can?

    I belive it is possible to 'downgrade' to XP from Vista (but i would call it a upgrade :p), however, i would recomend that you install a fresh copy of XP (backup all of your documents onto an external hard drive or DVD-R's).

    Just backup all applications and documents on a Cdrw/dvd,What ever you have,
    then fdisk/format...and install a fresh copy of XP..

    If you did an upgrade from XP to Vista without a clean install, it's possible, but not recommended as others have pointed out. Even if you choose not to, I'd still back up your important documents.
